Earlier this year, mainstream maintenance for SAP Business One version 9.0 ended. SAP provides mainstream maintenance when its software exits the ramp-up phase. Transitional maintenance starts when mainstream maintenance ends, enabling customers to continue running their mature release until they upgrade to a version under mainstream maintenance.
What’s the difference between mainstream and transitional maintenance?
- Technology updates (e.g., a new server), new legal changes, and development requests will be considered only in releases currently under mainstream maintenance.
- Solutions for reported issues on versions in mainstream maintenance will be provided as Notes, Patches, Major or Minor Releases - no new solutions will be provided for versions in transitional maintenance.
- Any data inconsistency corrections are generally supported for releases under mainstream maintenance.
- The maintenance fee for releases under mainstream maintenance and transitional maintenance is identical.
